A study aid has been posted to prepare for the NFHS examination. The exam will take place on February 28, 2005, at James River High School. Remember important dates including the fitness test and field module on March 5, 2005, at Hermitage High School.

The final proposal for the revised by-laws is now posted on the site. Please review these prior to the general meeting for their approval on February 28. This meeting will be held in conjunction with the examination at James River High School.

Rules clinic will happen on February 10, 2005, at Mills Godwin High School. It is mandatory that all officials attend a VHSL sponsored rules clinic. NFHS examination will happen on February 28, 2005, at James River High School. All officials must take the NFHS examination. New member orientation will also take place on Feb. 10 following the rules clinic. Senior officials will also have a program. There will be an association meeting prior to the examination to adopt changes to the by-laws. Proposed by-laws are available on this site.

The annual meeting will take place at the Trinity United Methodist Church on September 14, 2004. Plan to join your fellow officials at 7:00 on Tuesday the 14th. The new membership form is now posted (or student membership form). Download, complete and mail to the treasurer. Remember that our membership year runs with the school year so it is necessary to renew your membership to work matches in the fall season.

The RISOA site has moved to new servers after a less-than-satisfactory service experience with Advance Internet Technologies (AIT). The address risoa.foosweb.com is temporary. We should be moving back to our regular URL -- risoa.org -- in a few weeks. In the mean time, not all features will be functional. Calendar has been updated, though. The annual meeting will be held on Tuesday night, September 14, 2004. Watch the web site for details on time and location. We expect a report from a special committee looking into the by-laws so please plan to attend.

We're back! An accumulation of unsolicited spam e-mails ran our disk space over our allotment and our host knocked us off the air. But, we're back on line and updated with new information. The annual picnic is scheduled for June 17. Directions are on the calendar page. Some new photos are now in the gallery. Do you have any game action or crew shots? Mail them to the webmaster.

Directions have been posted to Deep Run High School for the rescheduled Richmond area rules clinic. The Virginia High School League has offered its sincere apology for the scheduling error that resulted in many referees needlessly travelling to J.R. Tucker High School this past week.

There will be a special meeting of the association on January 13, 2003 at John Tyler Community College, to celebrate the achievements of several of our member referees. One of our members has achieved twenty years of service to the Virginia High School League and he will be recognized along with all others with five or more years of service. Plan to come out and celebrate with your brother and sister referees! There will also be a training session offered in preparation for the upcoming exam!
