Notes from the RISOA President and Board of Directors

The Board of Directors has been actively working with its counterpart at CVSRA to advance cooperation between the two organizations. Earlier this fall we created a committee consisting of two RISOA board members and two CVSRA board members to consider how we could even better serve the referees and the clients through cooperation or consolidation.

The Committee has recommended that CVSRA and RISOA should merge, adopt the name of CVSRA, and create an entity within CVSRA still known as RISOA. The boards met in joint session on November 28 and agreed to move forward in this direction. Action of the boards and members will be required to formalize this merger.

RISOA will continue to exist for some time. Dissolution of the organization is not simple. We will need officers and we will need a plan to join the organizations. We will continue to provide updates to the membership via e-mail and at training meetings.

The January training meeting will again be a RISOA recognition night. It will be planned and run by your board of directors. There will be an annual meeting as we agreed to last year; this will happen in conjunction with the examination. Other meetings, training sessions and the like will be planned by the CVSRA board in the future.

For the time being, the RISOA site will continue to be a source of information for all those in the Richmond area working high school soccer games. Information broadcast to the CVSRA membership will be mirrored here.

Questions about the organization are welcome at any training meeting. I hope to see you on December 12.

Best,

Bill Franz

RISOA President
